Azerbaijan's Central Bank revises annual inflation forecast to 5.9% for 2026-2027
The Central Bank of Azerbaijan now projects annual inflation of 5.9% for both 2026 and 2027 under its baseline scenario, up from earlier estimates of 6.1% and 5.8% respectively.
The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has updated its annual inflation forecasts. Under the baseline scenario, inflation is now expected to reach 5.9% in both 2026 and 2027. Previously, the bank had forecast 6.1% for 2026 and 5.8% for 2027. The forecast assumes that state-regulated prices and tariffs will remain stable. In September 2026, 12-month inflation stood at 5.5%, down 0.2 percentage points from August. Annual price growth was 6.9% for food, alcohol and tobacco, 5.1% for paid services, and 3.6% for non-food goods, with core inflation at 4.9%. The bank noted that the main risks stem from global geopolitical uncertainty, rising energy and food prices, and the dynamics of the manat's exchange rate.
