Phishing: Fake Emails and Websites

Learn to read a web address correctly, not to trust the "https" padlock blindly, and to recognise fake courier services.

"Your account will be closed in 24 hours"

Leyla is a university student who gets her stipend on an XBank card. In the morning she finds an email: "Dear customer! Your details have not been updated. If you don't confirm within 24 hours, your account will be closed. Click to confirm."

The email has the bank's logo, its colours and even a "Security Department" signature.

What is phishing?

Phishing (a play on fishing) means luring you into typing your passwords, card details and codes into a fake email, message or website. Copying a logo and design takes only minutes.
